When people stop paying their bills, they lose the property. Property rights have 2 sides. If you held the note on this house and they stopped paying you, what would you do? They signed for the credit, they need to take responsibility and pay up or get out.

I just thought that the amount of firepower here was a little excessive. Elian Gonzales was another travesty of "Shake & Bake" aka Waco aka Janet Reno.

People are evicted every day without the officers. They are there because the people being evicted are thought to be a threat. If they would have vacated when presented with the notice, then this would not have been needed. They made the decision to not pay and then to not leave. Those agents don't know what they are going to find. So they should go prepared. Law enforcement is not the enemy. The banks may be crooked, but there are lawful ways to deal with that.

LE only uses what it may need. The percieved threat created the response

This is how it ends

if it gets ugly.
If it starts like this, well, something is way wrong.

Maybe we are at the end. People can steal from others and we are stuck talking about the resolution to the problem and not how the problem came about. If you were selling this property and the buyers stopped paying you, how would you handle it? These aren't the Nazis. These are fellow Americans that are trying to serve and protect. Our freedoms depend on us to exercise responsibility. Sadly, we all look for excuses for our failings. Just because you lose your job does not mean that you get out of your debts.

Waco? Really? The branch davidians were looking for a fight. Had they allowed the search and not fired, then that whole mess would not have happened. If anything, they didn't have enough force. They wanted to have a fight with the cops, and they made sure it happened.

i think the point sam was getting at (my personal view)is the government helps the banks who are responsible for the housing crisis get their property, while the people being evicted who may not have knowingly got into a bigger loan than they could afford, who may be just like you or me,hard working, but out of work, with a family, maybe they have grandma living with them because they have to take care of her, maybe sick children,or single parent on almost no income anymore, all they have is a "fellow american" with an automatic rifle and a cops attitude saying "were sorry but you have to go.......we hate to do this.......we understand" NOW GET OUT! wherever you go isn't our problem,we don't care if you have nowhere to go,by the way it is illegal to not have a valid id with a current address,by the way you'll be arrested for vagrancy when you get pulled over for a blinker being out,and the cop sees you living in your car with your 3 kids grandma and the dog and you don't have a current fucking address on your state issued identification.

reminds me of a song soup is good food, written in the 80's but with all the stuff going on now it has become almost prophecy, and defiantly become valid, and not just food for thought.now i gota try to find it on youtube, and post in for y'all to hear.

This is going to sound cold, but in a free market we are free to win or lose. No one made them take on that mortgage. Hey, I lost my job 4 years ago. You know how many payments I missed, 0. I went out and took a crappy job until I found a better one. It was not easy, but my bills got paid. It also helped that I was not leveraged to the max. You blame the banks, but why do you give the borrowers a pass. Nobody forces you to eat at McDonald's, so don't blame them if your fat. Same thing here if you want to play the game, then be ready if you strike out. The bank bailout was a joke. Most of the upper management should be in jail. However, two wrongs do not make a right. The people who took on these deals should also pay for the mistakes they made.

That depends on who was occupying the property in question. I doubt that they would bring that much heat unless threats were made or they were involved in other things too. Its too easy for outsiders to say what should or should not have been done. But you can tell a person's personal biases by how they see the events. You see an overreach by the authorities. You assume the best of those on the inside, but the worst of the people doing there job. You assumed that they had a cops attitude, did you talk to them? Cops are people too. I know many of them. Some are assholes there is no doubt. It just seems that some people try to find a conspiracy in every thing that the government does. The simplest explanation is often the correct one. Are the marshals the lap dogs of shadowy bankers, or just public servants doing their duty?
