Keep it in the family

My brother is a Texas Ranger.
He has had his eye on my Colt Gold Cup
Match for a long time. He came up last week
and we did some shooting. I finally gave it to him.
Mat finish, pearl grips, adjustable sights and trigger
Looks Damn Good on a Ranger

Understand.. I gave my brother an old 1905-1915 Colt army in 38 spl.. We all know the story about how the 38 Colt didn't work against the Moro's in the PI, and the issue lead to john moses bringing out the 1911.. What gets glossed over is that in the interim Colt started using S&W's 38 which we all know as the 38 special.. I had one.. it was in the white.. just a spec of blue around the trigger guard.. obviously an old flat latch.. as it was an army model (no lanyard tho for some reason) and brother retired as a mustang O..it seemed like the thing to do..

So like you i gave it to him..and bless his heart the next time he came up he brought me my sister-n-laws (who died in 03) model 19 that ive posted pictures of.. I'm sure it was equally hard for him to give it up as it was for you..but i love it just as your brother does the gold cup.. Of all the Smiths its the only one i have with target trigger.. I can't describe how perfect the trigger is.. An honest surprise every time the sear breaks.. The neat thing is i think of him (and her) every time i take it out, and sure your brother will do the same thing..

Show me a

perfectly good airplane. They have a bad tendency to fail at the most inop times usually while in flight.
