I once owned some 45 rpm comedy records, with people like Moms Mabley & Redd Foxx. On one side of one of the Redd Foxx records was a comedy routine about a new laundry detergent, FUGG. His sales pitch was, "If DUZ won't do it, & RINSO won't rinse it, you got to FUGG it! And all you women out there with nasty garbage cans, to where the neighbors all puttin' you down, to get it clean you got to FUGG yo' can!"

I always thought that the stuff that Redd did in his old night club act was hilarious. It was SO raunchy that he couldn't do it on TV - even now, even on cable.
Also, if you've never heard any of the old Moms Mabley routines, they were incredible. She was one of the funniest human beings who ever lived. She'd come on stage dressed like an old bag woman (she lived to be pretty old), with her false teeth taken out, & go into her routines. She was also unbelievably raunchy. All the comics of her day, whether white & black, always said she was the funniest comic living.

Thanks ecaman, i had forgoten the old gal. I think she only did a couple of tv shows, her stuff was just to over the top for that.. Luckys right i remember my folks talking about how raunchy Hacket was in person, course back then a dirty act just talked about toilet issues. Todays kids wouldnt get why it was such a deal. I remember them taking Jack Parr off tv cause he made some joke about bathrooms. We were so nieve back then, wow, but I think i like that better than how offensive our culture is today.. Maybe im just another rant'n geezer.. whatever!
