The Doberman is pregnant. The fireman had just saved her from a fire in her house,
rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, then he continued to fight the fire.
When he finally got done putting the fire out,
he sat down to catch his breath and rest.
A photographer from the Charlotte , North Carolina Newspaper, noticed the dog in the distance looking at the fireman.
He saw the Doberman walking straight toward the firefighter
and wondered what she was going to do.
As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had just saved her life
and the lives of her babies and kissed him just as the photographer snapped this photograph.

I think animals are more appreaciative than people.

Jim, you're 100% right about that. I think that most of us have gotten animals out of bad situations and had them express their thanks in whatever way they can. Makes you feel really good when it happens.
It's probably just me, since I'm pretty much a cranky ass curmudgeon, but I like most animals better than most humans. They're a hell of a lot more honest.

It took me years to get used to myself but
I would rather be with me than most people
now. Wait a minute I can't trust myself either
Damn I'm screwed

i rescued a Rotweiller from a flood once,it was trapped for i don't know how long in freezing water, when i got it on shore,it went apeshit,it was so happy to be free, and it kept licking me,and bounding around like crazy, come back, lick me some more, then took off for some farm i suppose( i was in the boonies) this is the short version of the story,i like a good dog.

Morning Adam,
We had a Beagle that was like that, sick, hurt, recuperating, or just felt bad, that pup would not leave our side's.
