Couldn't you reuse concrete? Can't a quarry or some similar place recycle concrete, cinder, and other masonry? And it seems like a foundry ought to be able to recycle old rebar. Maybe not, but that's a thought that has been with me since 2003. lots of fucked up buildings, why not reuse the stuff? Then again, we have different mindsets. Iraqis feel that many things are beneath them. You'll see an old guy on his way to the Mosque, dressed in his Friday best, step over an open sewage ditch and trash in front of his house because he doesn't think he should have to clean it up. That country is fucked.

Most of the Arab world...even in countries like Dubai...the only Arabs who work there are big businessmen, oil execs and some govt workers...labor is done by Indians, Filipinos, etc etc., same in Kuwait. Most of the Arab world see all of us as beneath them...as you already know. I understand there are some that are not like that...but that mentality permeates most of their society.
