Shot Gun

This is probley no Shit. In the early 1900's Ducks were harvested with this style of shotgun. it was mounted in a boat. They would fire into a large flock of ducks, straifing the flock. This was done commercially for restaurents back east. The gun was loaded with nuts, bolts, ect. Then came game laws. This is shared I hope with some accuricy. I read about in about the 60's or 70's. Some of the older guys maby can shead more insight than myself. What say you older gents?

Punt Gun

I believe that was the common name. The gun was generally mounted w/the barrel facing or resting at the bow of the boat. Steerage of the vessel was the sighting tactic. The boat (also known as a sneak boat) was camouflaged and would be paddled to within range of these 8Ga. or even 4Ga shot guns which would fire at the flock of waterfowl while they were on the water. These were obviously meat hunters that provided their kill to restaurants etc..

(You have to look behind all of that outer space stuff)
