I have owned 2 1911's and loved both of them. The 1911 is a great pistol to use and is very accurate. Had very little problem with my 1911.
Performance: 10
The 1911 ran like a dream. Very easy to aim and reload. A great pistol that has been around since 1911. A very durable pistol.

The sights are easy to see and use. mag release works great to do magazine changes. Nice grips.

The 1911 looks and feels great in the hand. Springfield makes a very nice pistol that shoots good.

If you want to buy a 1911 45acp then this is the gun to have. Springfield makes a great pistol that I shoot with when I was shooting IPSC for 8 years. Both pistol I had ran like swing machine when I was double tapping shots in matches. As long as you use good magazines you will not have any feeding problems. The gun is very easy to handle and easy to aim at your targets. If you are looking to buy a 1911 Springfield makes a great pistol. Very easy to come out of a holster to shoot with. A all around great pistol to own.
This is very helpful. I am just looking at buying a Springfield 1911 and was wondering how they stack up to the more expensive Kimbers. Everyone says, "Get a Kimber" but I just can't afford it just yet. The Parkerized Springfield looks nice as well.
I shoot 8 years IPSC matches with a Springfield 1911 and had no problem with them at all. Shot around 180,000 rounds thru 2 Springfields in 8 years.
