The rifle, chambered in 7.62x39, has a lot of power but where it hurts is in the accuracy department. The accuracy for this rifle is terrible and should not be described any other way. Putting a scope on an AK-47 is pointless because if you are shooting farther than 150 yards your going to have a hard time hitting your target. Close range however this rifle packs a punch. Able to penetrate body armor and thin metal the AK-47 is the ideal rifle within 150 yards.

Features

The AK-47 has a very short list of features and the features it does have are not worth mentioning. With accessory rails that fit the AK-47 you can attach just about anything but the rifle by itself doesn't have any features.

Appeal

Not the prettiest gun in the world but probably the most loved next to the AR-15. Cheap and Affordable to maintain are its strongest attributes.

The AK-47 is one of the most rugged weapons ever made. Of the many rounds I've fired through mine I have never had it skip a beat. Anyone looking to buy a cheap yet durable weapon should look no farther. The same goes for anyone buying bulks of weapons. The price can range anywhere from $350 to well over $1,000 but seeing is how no matter what you pay you still get the same durable weapon, cheaper will always be better. This is probably the only rifle I can see that about because you always get what you pay for. With the AK, the extra money you spend is probably going only to aesthetics.

Question

I know you mentioned that they are all similar, but do you recommend one type over another or would shy away from purchasing an AK-47...maybe you could rank which ones you like/dislike...
Russian?
Romanian?
Yugoslovian?
Chinese?
etc

I have a Romanian WASR 10/63 chambered IN 7.62x39. It is absolutely the the most awesome weapon I have ever owned. Got it set up with a bi-pod and tactical scope and it keyholes at 50 yards and keeps a 2" group at 100 yards. I shoot only Russian made ammo as that is what they were meant to shoot. As for recoil it kicks far less than an AR. Have fired 300 rounds at range in about 1 1/2 hours with no pain. The gas chamber takes all the recoil.

AK47

Is there any one type of AK that stands out over all the different models that have been made?
