The Kel-Tec P11 is one of the smallest handguns most gun enthusiasts will encounter.
Performance: 8.8
Weighing merely 400 grams (unloaded) with a barrel size of 79mm, the gun can easily fit in a pocket. It's often the preferred concealment weapon for personal protection. The gun was developed by the US-based manufacturer during the Clinton administration because of the ban of 12-rounded ammunition. In response to this ban, the P11 was developed as a 10-round semi-automatic pocket gun. But the ban has ended so 12-round versions recommended by the manufacturer is now available. The gun was made for 9mm bullets which prove it has power even with the small size.

There are many advantages of the P11. Among them is the easy assembly and disassembly. Aside from the screwdriver, no other tool is needed to slowly remove the pieces of the handgun. Another advantage is in its ability to handle most versions of 9mm bullets. Kel-Tec does not manufacture bullets so they made sure that most 9mm can work well. The only possible problem is when the tip of the bullet is customized to increase its power. The gun might have a stronger than expected recoil. Last but not the least, the price is very competitive. The brand new and the most expensive version (chromed) is only priced at $399.00
Appeal: 8.4
Another improvement is on the extra rounds. The Kel-Tec P11 can work well even with 15-round and 18-round chamber from Smith & Wesson. Of course, this will increase the size of the grip which means you should have the grip extension before you get the Smith & Wesson extra rounds.
Even though the gun is not for competitions, the gun is perfect for self protection. P11 is a small, highly manageable but a very powerful handgun.

There are also possible problems that will be encountered with the gun. Some gun owners have indicated that they need to "break in" the gun for at least 50 rounds before it completely works without any problem. Others reported problems mainly because they pushed the gun too far. Another possible problem is obviously its size. The gun can't be held completely by all fingers. Only two fingers can be used in the gun even with regular size hands. There might also be problems for those who wanted to have a fast action gun. Since its double action, an extra squeeze is needed to fire the gun. But it's not a difficult gun to handle - it's just that the P11 was not made for competitions.
Because of the possible problems that might be encountered especially on the size, there are some improvements the gun owner can use in the gun.
First off is the handle. As already indicated, the handle is too short. A grip extension should do just fine as it will improve handling. This is very important when using a relatively powerful bullet since the recoil could be a bit strong. To completely improve the grip, a rubber sleeve should be purchased. This can work well with various forms of grip extension.
