I have had a lot of work performed on my gun to get it working perfectly. It shoots straight and dead on. I would have to thank Phil Fitch for all the work he did reworking my gun. From what i have been told by many people who have owned this gun in its many versions is the jamming while loading. I expereinced this with my gun too often.
Features

I have trijicon nite sites, wilson magazines 8 rd, extended mag. well, extended safety. Custom wood grips with rubber finger grooves. They really help with stability of the gun while shooting. I do not use a light setup because there is no rail system of on the 1911, and they are not used in IDPA events.
Appeal

I like the way the gun feels and the balence. The availability of custom parts to make the gun fit you. There are too many options for this gun then I can list here. Many different models by many companies in too many types of calipers.
Summary

I happened to really like this gun, I have customized mine for shooting in IDPA events. It is accurate, and fits my hand perfectly. Chambered in.45 acp reloading is easy and affordable. I highly recomend this gun for self defense or competitive shooting. Parts are easily obtain from any major gun store or online shooting specialties stores. This is a gun every one should try at least once in thier life.It is easily customized to fit your needs and preferences.

Overall I really like the design of the gun, the balance and fit in my hands. It took a little work to get the gun to stop jamming, but afterwards it is a real pleasure to shoot. With all the custom work performed, Trijicon night-sites, wood & rubber finger grips, extended magazine well, safeties, custom breech work, and custom black coating, the only other work I am waiting on is engraving some custom designs in silver. I shoot IDPA and this gun took me to a third place finish in the 2001 Winter-Nationals at Smith & Wesson in Springfield, MA. I have also used this gun in local weekly shooting league matches.

A very nice round if you can afford it. I love my 1968
Colt Gold Cup Match but even hand loading It can eat you
alive. I have my trigger set at 2 lbs and that eliminates
any flenching , just be ready cause it is.
I still like to carry my Ruger 44 Mag into bear country
just for safetys sake
