I was able to grab a few random "old school" weapons that we had in the armory over here and one that I was really interested to shoot was the Tokarev. These weapons have always had an appeal to me for one reason or another. So finally I got to pop off a few rounds.

Performance: 8

I was pleased with the accuracy of this slim framed pistol. It was no "sniper" but it did its job with reasonable groups. This would mark the first slim frame I have ever shot and I am happy with what I felt while shooting. I have not owned one so I can't speak on the accuracy.

Features: 7

The burred external hammer was nice and didn't feel to hard to pull back or release for safe decocking. This pistol of course didn't have a Picatinny rail so the extras weren't there o help with the extras department. Sights were fine although I did have the pleasure of having some worn down tips. It was simply more of a challenge.

Appeal: 9

The Tokarev has always had the appeal to me so I may be a little biased when I say that I this this design is appealing and slightly intriguing. Not to mention the kick back was on the lower end of some pistols I have fired.

Overall this weapon has allot to enjoy. I personally enjoy the visual style of it, but then again I have always loved the look of Brownings and this definitely has the Browning look to it. I experienced only slight kickback while firing and didn't seem to catch to much wild bucking with this slim frame gun. As far as reliability goes, I have no personal experience with it over long term however an armorer friend of mine says that they are reliable enough for time they were made and served well while used. The feel of this weapon in the hand is one that not all may like but the ones who fit the gun will love.

A buddy of mine that worked OGS preferred the Tokarev over everything else for a side arm. Next time I see him, I will inquire.
