the appeal of this weapons platform is the fact that you can build it into a custom rifle with bolt on goodies.it is also suited to small and medium sized game hunting with the .30 caliber cartridge.not to mention the fact that it is one of the original"assault rifles"!and the cheap price of buying one and ammo is real reasonable under normal circumstances(pre-Obama)

i picked up this rifle only because of the cheap surplus ammo.when i began to shoot it regularly i quickly realized the accuracy and function of this weapon.whether i buy cheap steel case ammo,milsurp ammo or if i handload for this gun it will go bang every time.i found out the accuracy of this gun by accident,i was shooting at pieces of clay pigeon at 100 yards that were laying on a dirt bank and by gorra,i was hitting them!i then hung a paper target and shot a 15 round(the ammo i had left that day)group which when measured was within 1.5 inches.not bad for open sites and not that great of eye site.since then i have put on a 4 power scope and can really appreciate what this gun will do.i would not hesitate to hunt with this gun or defend my family.it is user friendly and functions flawlessly.
