Too bad our first negro president could not have been a deserving, competent, law abiding, non-muslim U.S. citizen.

For those who remember, in the first couple months after being elected he would board Marine 1 with appropriate POTOS demeanor.. Obviously this is a photo op for all Presidents, and his bearing was (MHO stuff) appropriate.. Then about a year into his term he started saluting.. From the first salute on this has been an irritant..

I say this with care, as in no way, shape, or form, do i want any separation between Vets, and Non Vets in our hang out.. Most of us who enlisted did so because we had little direction in our lives, we're for what ever reason in need of adventure more than education, and in most cases had watched one to many John Wayne movies.. In other words while the non Vets were holding down real jobs and starting a family we were in many ways still playing at being adults.. If this pisses off other Vets, then A) sorry B) talking about reality of the 60's not today, and C) tough shit.. Fact is that in NO way have i seen more patriotism on here from either group..

OK that being said, the hand salute is a major thing to all of us.. and one of (if not the only) perk we've earned in the real world.. Tom Clybourn was the sponsor(can't think of co sponser) of the non uniformed vet salute bill, the point of which was to allow Vets to salute during National Anthem as opposed to hand over heart.. This was one of the most UN reported acts of Congress, and one of the most important to vets.. All the VFW's, and American Legions made this known to members, but to this day most Americans, and few Vets are aware that it is not only appropriate, but CORRECT flag edicate for Vets to Salute (uncovered, and obviously in civvies)..

It's not the politics that bother me here, it's the complete lack of knowledge related to all things Military that bothers me.. Remember the whole corPsman controversy.. that and the fact that i know in my heart that he "studied" how to salute as opposed to "why" to salute.. Ask any Vet whats the highest honor that another can give.. The salute.. It's sure worth more than a "flip" that's nothing but a postured photo op..

Anyway Greg,

I was cutting down small trees and clearing underbrush. I'd been up since b4 dawn. Mack, Brandon & Casey spent the night so I took them to school, then picked them up after school, brought them home for dinner.
We played some 1 on 1 basketball. I cheat though. When I'm driving toward the basket I put my gross smelling arm pit up so if they don't get out of the way they get the skunk treatment! I shoulda been a BB coach, huh?
Brandon is much better with the football, when I throw it can't control it well anymore, It goes where I throw it...sideways LOL! I'll blame the cheap-ass Chinese ball! I can fire off some mean "bullets" using the kid's Nerf football that has a rubber skeleton though.
Since they are moving to Missouri Casey and Brandon may not have sports avail @ their grade levels. Even if they do I won't be able to go to many of their games ;<(

News papers and reports of shootings.
Like you, I know blood sells papers, print & online but I'm sensitive about "reporters" over reporting or sensationalizing gun related stories.
The only "good" gun news lately has been the govmnt's failed attempt to flood Mexico with weapons then blame us for it. I love it when the omnipotent dictators get it stuck up their ass then broken off.
Hope you had a delicious dinner!
