you should also be proficient with it! What good does it do you to have a gun if you can't hit the broadside of a barn with it!

I just got my CWP last week and I think the largest setback for me and most CWP holders is the fact that its against most employeers policy to carry it on their property. I dont know if that really pertains to the parkinglot but I cant carry it inside.

.....well Im not suppose to. Im going to follow the advice of the guy that taught the CWP
DONT ASK, DONT TELL

its breaking the policy of the employer, but not the law

Carry options

I carry a Walther PPS 9mm every day. Not too bulky and shoots likde a range gun. Fereral hollowpoints mean lights out if needed. I hope to never need it, but always have it

i really debated "before" AZ went to will issue.. I had misgivings about being on any "list", but decided to after speaking with an old friend who had promoted to warden.. The Dept is LE standards so all that was required was a letter acknowledging i was retired, Sam put up a post on this some time back, and pretty straight forward.

The only problem was retired LE (least in our case with DOC) were not on the national list so A) no reciprocal, and B) still had to do the list check, as opposed to the flash and buy of card carrying CCW .. I'm not sure why that was an issue and maybe its been resolved by now, not sure.. As the State of AZ is now "do it" its a mute point..

At any rate i have been carrying concealed for the last 15 years.. Everyday.. period.. and have found a couple of things that might interest you guys.. 1) I'm way to complacent.. part of this could be retired to a quiet country life style, the attendant "age" issues, etc.. I do know i automatically start "code" changing when we go to the city..

Think part of it is good in that it"s so routine after all these years that I've identified this as problem one, so i really try to Focus in.. The other is that after all this time, i still don't have the perfect carry piece.. If were going to an "orange" area, then its the air weight.. which carries great, except for a problem with speed loaders, they dont.. i also have a little freedom arms thats always with me, and the Walther P-22's.. The rest are either to big, or in the case of the 32 Colts to animiac..

The little FA is like 7 oz or so.. 5 rounds of stingers.. Good little piece,I've kidded about the accuracy it, but its actually not bad.. I have all the holsters in the world from good leather Galco, and Bianchi to ballistic nylon, I've found im not crazy about IWB holsters, and the easiest for me is just mexican carry.. i find myself usually dropping the P-22 Walther in my R hip pocket, and an extra mag in the L front, and im out the door..Thiers obviously a lesson there about the comfortable carry of a slab side auto, and i probably should invest in a good "dedicated" CCW weapon..

I'm well aware that changing pieces is not the wisest choice (that muscle memory thing) the only thing i can say in defence is i keep enough range time to be comfortable with all of them, when we did our qualifying i always liked the discretionary (shoot/dont shoot) part the best and maybe dropping a diffrent piece in the pocket or hostler ups the focus... just a thought...

I do know that more than once ive been REAL happy to have a weapon on me, and when ever Gloria sets off to Prescott, or Wickenburg. 45 min either way.. i'm glad shes carrying, and knows what to say should it ever be necessary to use it.. muscle memory extends to the mouth as well.. i just shot to stop him, I was in fear for my life, i just shot to stop him, i was in fear for my life, i just shot to stop him, i was in fear for my life..i just shot to stop him, i was in fear for my life..

a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture.

pretty good video

stays on point,if you have a CCP,then carry a gun.Maybe there is a follow up video on the "system" he was talking about.IMO a "system" would be your primary CC weapon ,a BUG,holsters for each, spare magazine, knife, and flashlight. These items are what i consider my basic "system".I add or subtract from these depending on variable conditions, like how long i'm gonna be out, where i'm going, what i'm wearing, etc.but i always have a gun, sometimes a .25 Beretta, spare mag,and a knife are my minimalsit "system"Hey if the need arises and i have to use the .25 the BG is getting 8+1, plus a reload.

i tried being reasonable,i didn't like it, NRA LIFE MEMBER,USMC VETERAN
