the suspect does see, is the suspect pulling a hidden handgun from

shame

It's a shame there was a video camera, this guy will be facing alot of charges. But is this real? These guys seem really laid back walking to the body.

A person with a rifle has a significant advantage over a handgun.

During a life and death situation where someone is pointing a firearm at you, I think it would be safe to say, I rather be alive than dead.

It's always so easy to second guess someone when you just sit there and watch a video of an occurrence on film, but when you find yourself in a similar situation I'm sure you'd probably shoot first.

Besides all we saw was a few seconds of the incident. This guy may have been shooting with offices for a long time before someone decided to video tape the incident.

The back officer

The officer to the rear of the subject yelled gun before shooting the suspect. I watched it about 10 times and see no reason to not shoot they were right I would have shot well before that anyhow.

Looks like a fake

I'm calling BS based on the way the badguy went down. I've looked at it a few times and I don't think it's real. If it is real and those guys really were US Marshals, they suck. Neither officer had the suspect covered as they approached. You never assume he's out of the fight until you have the weapon away and physical control of the bad guy. It's fake.

A 22 would have more kick than that, its gotta be fake the cop that was behind the suspect his gun did have any recoil either plus if you get shot in the back, wouldn't you fly forward instead of backward?

I"m telling you guys it's a nerve/muscle reaction... The point is not that he would stand up the fact is that the movement is unnatural for a human being in a reaction situation without say an outside source like a bullet... But if you want to tear apart the whole movement that the suspect made in reaction to the shot I can prove it was real...

just a thought

I'd say that this video is far too grainy to tell definitively if there is recoil or not...I'm just saying...I mean if it's a 9mm he's not really gunna show too too much recoil in this vid.

this video is a prime

this video is a prime example of the importance of watching out for your fellow officers, if the officer around the corner had not positioned himself there, the outcome may have been fatal for the officers

Many comments!

If this was real the approaching officer is returning his weapon to the holster prior to affirming the downed man is in fact dead. In fact I don't think he fired a round but could still be in harm way.

half a dozen times. I see no indicator that the cop in the rear fired. It's bogus. They are entirely too cavalier about the approach, especially if these guys are supposed to be US Marshals. I realize federal officers are about as incompetent as can be, but this is a mistake even Corky from Life Goes On wouldn't make. (No offense intended to the guy with Down's Syndrome. The comparison of him to Feds was not intended to insult him).

I agree the video is really grainy but watch the behind officers elbows they do retract back and up as to indicate recoil also I think a flash is visible with the second shot. It's hard to see even the recoil cause he's a big boy I'm sure a 9 wont have much effect on him.

Note on training... yeah even so he shouldn't have lowered his guard sure but you don't always do the same thing you were trained to do all the time.

Medical note on how the suspect fell...

My guess is he got hit lower back with the first shot the way his hips flex outward away from the shot and he stands straight up then falls... Thats hard to do acting guys, that first bullet probably hit his spine or the muscles in your back that control your legs... That reflex is just too unnatural for this to be a training exercise.

Dr. Angus what's your opinion on that?

I watched it again

I see no movement of the rear officer's arm that would indicate recoil, and nothing of a muzzle flash. Muzzle flash in the daylight with a 40 or 45 using duty ammo wouldn't be visible anyway. And the way he fell was ridiculous. Why not show the rest of the video? It is obvious the cameraman was there with the officers, and nobody made a move to keep him back. Bullshit, plain and simple.

Yes he was there with the officers, SamD said it was filmed with the U.S. Marshals for fugitive task force. They sign a waiver saying if they get screwed up it's not the agency's fault, they've been doing that since Cops went on the air.

And the flash is there I have a room full of people that sees it on the second shot. Sure maybe it's not a flash but unburnt powder exiting the barrel but it's there.

And i'm pretty sure the recoil is there too... It may just be him readjusting for aim.

And i'm not repeating myself on the way he fell cause i already gave my reasons

Except for the fact that they own that footage and they won't release it to the mainstream media... this little clip got out the same way videos from iraq get released little clips not 30 minute long shows with plot lines and dramatic music and titles for people who are talking to the camera...

take it for what it is some footage that guys like us can handle an analysis not something an ordinary citizen can watch because they won't sleep comfortably at night... and you cannot tell me that you have ever seen someone shot on the news before... especially not now...

is too grainy to see a recoil, other than watching his gun follow the perp very closely all the way to the ground, the video just isnt clear enough to see it. And if that were me walking to the, shot 3 times, perp; I wouldnt hesitate to holster my weapon if I saw brains.

I'm sorry about your

I'm sorry about your friend

but this was a legit shooting. The man was trying to pull a hidden gun on an officer. He was commanded twice to put the weapon down he started to but he was putting those officers in a life threatening situation. It was a dangerous event and I'm sorry that suspect was dangerous and if not for that other officer he would've shot the first one.

If they are marshals

They would be using 40. I don't even think the marshal's service uses Berettas. No positive, though. That reaction is easily done. People do more outlandish shit than that in movies. This video is a fake. I would like some internet-smart people to find more of the footage either before or after the shooting. The video as is is ridiculous.
