We're not going to just shoot the sons-of-bitches, we're going to rip out their living guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. Gen. George S. Patton
"The ideal outcome for any standoff is one in which nobody gets hurt, including the suspect." Bullshit. The courts don't make a distinction in the importance of life, whether it is the life of a victim or criminal. This is wrong. I couldn't agree more, Freedom. Give a hostage taker his 15 minutes of fame, but fifteen seconds into it you T-zone him and let the world gasp for the last 14:45 at the high-definition glory of another criminal asshole's atomized brains becoming one with the ozone layer. I saw that full length video, by the way and it was a cop behind a car with a Steyr AUG that took him out.
"I have always been a soldier. I have known no other life. The calling of arms, I have followed from boyhood. I have never sought another." From The Virtues of War, by Steven Pressfield.
I saw it on one of those "Faces of Death" type movies. I am familiar with the Steyr, and like most bullpup designs, I hate it. That new one from FN seems alright, though. My gripe with bullpups is that if you have to fire offhand, the ejection port is in your face. The FN rifle that ejects through the chute in the front seems like a good idea.

THAT is entertainment. I know that sounds like I am a sick fuck, but that is how a standoff SHOULD end. No mercy, no hesitation, do not flinch. Take that bastard out! If you have ever been on the business end of a criminals gun, then you too can appreciate the outcome of this.
looks like left eye to me also, which surprised me at first, because it was closer to the victim, but great shot anyway.

of this encounter, but my Front Sight instructor had to "kick my ass" to make me understand. That was the exact shot I had to take, from about three meters.
I wonder if I could have done that if it was "live".

The shooter here had the benefit of a rifle with a scope, I think, likely with the barrel propped up nice and steady. He also had the benefit of knowing what he was going to do in advance rather than suddenly coming across it when he entered a room. I'm sure his adenalin was higher than normal, but my guess is he did not experience the 'adrenalin dump' phenomenon from fearing a personal attack. Your task was a lot more difficult than his. Yeah, yours was a simulation (fortunately) but I think you deserve more points for difficulty and pressure.

I certainly am no hero. I learned a bit, again, about facing my "fears", however simulated the situation was. I was projecting to "what if" this were real. Scared the hell out of me, but ultimately told me I could do it for real.

Nice head shot, great job! I have to admit though, he did give you his entire head to do so... must say he was a team player.
Gun Control= the theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.
I think I saw that film footage and the guy that stopped that fight walked up to the actor, within 10feet (who was distracted) and shot him with a pistol.
(You have to look behind all of that outer space stuff)
personally after viewing this vidio ide have to say that the
guy holding the woman hostage
wasnt to smart which ended him up in a no brainer situation...LOL
of course ide allso have to say he may have trouble trying
to rethink the situation allso!..LOL
as for the last thing that went through his mind im quite sure its
what ever caliber that was used!. perfect take down!.
Weather it's 5.56 or 7.62 it don't matter what happens when it hits the gray matter. I believe 100% in ending all hostage situations like this, however I also don't believe in not shooting a hostage. Pop one in the lower leg or through the shoulder into the perp. Then the hostage takers think twice about taking a hostage. Don't matter the situtation if they always end up dead then we always win.
Yes, let's put a high-velocity rifle round through a leg or shoulder (You do know a rifle round through the shoulder joint isn't fixed by a simple sling and bandage, and a 7.62x51 round or even 5.56 round can cause ballistic amputation of a small bone like those found in the lower legs, right?) of an innocent person caught in a situation not of his or her choosing. If that was an attempt at humor, hah hah, but if that's a serious opinion, Hope you never make it on to a special weapons team.

I was joking don't take it serious I understand ballistics very well and have seen the damage caused by both the 5.56x45 and the 7.62x51. That was a humorous post it was my attempt at comedy. Plus I have been and am currently a member on a Special Weapons Team. I wouldn't shoot a hostage there is no call for shooting inocent people.
and humorous inflections in the voice don't often translate well to a computer. I should know, I've told my computer jokes, erotic stories, and called it lots of bad names and this god for saken cursor just keeps blinking at me as though it has no idea what I'm saying. FUCK THIS THING!!!! Huh? Okay, better.

where the full video is? That would be a treat. Here's some info on the Steyr: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steyr_AUG

I am not 100% certain but I would bet that it is real. Perp dropped quick, which a head shot does.
