The biggest problem with taking the oath is most have no Idea what they are actualy swearing to to do. What is the Constitution that you are swearing to support and defend? Why is it so important to understand what it is?
The constitution of "THESE" United Stastes of America does not give you any rights at all. It is a document of limiting powers to the federal govermnet, in other words it set limits on the federal goverment and says what they are allowed to do. They have the power to do only 17 things, that is all.
Read and understand what you are swearing an oath to.
All members of the military and elected offials swear this oath and I would bet over 90% have no idea what they are swearing to support and defend.
Read the Declaration of Independance, the Constitution and ther Bill of Rights then you will know what you promised to do...

This video really got me thinking. Thinking about what is really going on and how I need to be paying more attention to things. And spend some time with some "remedial training" on Our Constitution. And to focus on being more aware and prepared. I dont know about anyone else but have probably learned more on this site since joining in the past week than I have in the past 5 years.
