Before any UN treaty can be agreed to, the Senate must ratify. Any unilateral signiture by the POTUS would represent Prima Facie violation of his oath of office to preserve protect and defend the constitution of the USA.. Such a treaty would violate the Second Amendment, and thus, would nulify any compliance. In addition, the USA agreed to the international, Geneva treaty on treaties which provides that a signitor's executive approval of a treaty is null and void if the treaty would violate the signitor country's national laws.
