Did you know you can mount a pair of bi-pod on that rifle to shoot prone more accurately?

I hope that was after you started your fire lap process or it was used. On the other hand I like the choice.

That is the way I broke my barrel in on my AR. I have about 9,000 rds thru my barrel now. It still shoot great, I use it to shoot turltes in my in-laws pond. Still have no problem shooting head shots out about 120 yards.

maybe it was'nt necessary but I did a 1 shot clean (repeat 4 more times), 5 shots clean (repeat 4 more times), then i did 20 round shots, my rifle still shoots 1/2" moa's at 100 meters. I've put about 700 hundred rounds through it.

mine will still shoot 1/2 to 1/4 MOA at a 100 yards. I need to practice some with my. Plus, I need to reload some more match ammo for my rifle.

I have a 1 and 9 twist in my 16 inch barrel. I use Sierra 69 grs. BTHP Match bullets with Accurate 2520 powder loaded to 25.0 grains. Winchester small rifle primers with mostly military brass and I do have some Federal match brass too, but a lot is mixed brass. I use to use 2200 data powder from accurate but you can not buy it anymore it was some great powder and cheap.

thanks... will do some research to see if I can apply that to my application. Ironically your not the first to tell me their using 69 bthp match bullets. I think I might try them to see the results. I sure like how they sound on the 505 meter metal plates tho.

The 77 grain bullet is great for long range. In fact I'm planning on buying a Stag Arms 6 Super Varmint for my wife with a 1 & 8 twist to shoot prairie dogs out to 1,000 yards with the Sierra 77 grs. BTHP Match bullets.

I thought I was doing good at 1/2 moa (3 shot group all touching), but 1/4 moa that's impressive, what brand is it. And for 2nd question is the stag varment a 24" barrel.

Yes, Stag Arms Super Varmint is a 24" match barrel. I have shot groups like that with a Colt,Olympic and Bushmaster. I shot a 5 shot group at 240 yards that was .350 of an inch. I have a pic of a 3 shot group I shot with a Remington 700 in 308 at 100 yards that is .057 of an inch. and have a pic here up of a 3 shot group at 204 yards with a 300 Win. Mag that is .240 of an inch.

Practice makes perfect. I have a consin that was a Marine sniper and we shot together all the time when I was younger. So, I was taught by him if it is not in the same hole your shooting sucks. I'm still working on it. The picture of the 3 shot group with the 308 and 300 WM are up in the pictures here on the site.
