That's funny, the guys I hang with are the same way! My son was watching a newb shoot a 30.06 and the scope just barely touched his brow. I told my son when you shoot it, just before you shoot back off a little. I watched him sight his target, the took another 2-3 inches back and pulled the hammer. Too funny, he looked at me with relief when he didn't split his face open.

Happened to me once when I switched to 7mm mag after using 30-06 for awhile. Definitely gets your attention! Haha
