Thought I would share, my son sent me this for my B'day

I saw her(Janis & Her Band) at The Filmore (East or West)mind kind of foggy from those days, in '67. Shared some Southern Comfort with her. She was on a 1 foot high platform right on the dance floor. It was a great night. These funny little cigarrette things just kept passing around, you would pass to the next guy so I passed and the guy says no thanks maan, I look up and it's a SFPD in uniform...lol

She was in a class by herself. Nobody's ever been able to do it as well. And SamD, the 60's were wonderful. They've never been duplicated either. I was in Monterey for awhile, used to go up to the Haight & North Beach. Great times, what I remember of them! I miss them.

Kristofferson, she started using Heroin. If you use H you might as well put a gun to your head, because both are going to kill you.

Heroin

I've known a lot of users. I've never known anyone who kicked it. I suppose there have been some who were strong enough, but I've never come across even one. Acid was bad too. Many committed suicide because of its effects, some while high & some after they'd come down. For some people, the bad trips kept recurring.

Yep were all of that 60's era, when we were dumb as snot. I was pretty lucky, did my share, and got clean before i got hooked. But saw so many of my friends lose thier whole life to drugs. Sometimes its that law of unintended consequence thing.. The dept. started a good drug test procedure back in early 90's could get weed easy for a month, so the inmates turned to opiats cause there out of your system quick. Result was we had Inmates who came to prison with out a habit, being released to society with one. Sad as obviously we were trying to do the right thing.
Will tell you this much, you can't stop H from getting into a prison. It's been tried in every state of the union. At the highest custody levil, in every state, you find H, tell me its not HIGHLY addictive huh.. wow.
