After six vets chained themselves to the White House fence to protest what they feel is the president's slow movement on repealing the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy police closed Lafayette Park and chased away the media that was covering the event.
Protests are nothing new at the White House but to see them coming from Obama's allies is a bit startling especially when the protesters start chaining themselves to the fence. But even more suprising is the banning of the media from covering the event. The protest would have made the evening news and made the administration squirm a bit, but now they have to explain why the media couldn't cover the story from a public park and how this isn't about free speech. The answer if we get one should be illuminating.

Can anyone actually expect one? After taking such an arbitrary and capricious action, there's no way they're going to issue a statement. They'll just pretend that nothing happened.

Yes we still have a constitution, it's in a museum someplace under inches of bullit proof glass where no one in our government ever goes. I wonder how many of our elected officials (obama included) have even read the constitution or the declaration of independance.

who covers the presidents ass and fall all over him when will they see the light? This is not the kind of country I wanted and served to defend. This admin is creating a police state, the police are no longer here to protect us but to protect themselves. The polititions only worry about lining there pockets. We need to send a message and vote all the bastards out. They are there to serve us not the other way around.
