For all you bikers and gear heads, if you haven't seen this movie already, I strongly recomend it.
I love Bonneville and going fasssssssssst!
I owned a '57 2dr post Chevy, 327, 2 /4's, Duntov cam, 4 spd. Held E Production record at the time at 146.781 mph....
as aerodynamic as a brick I might run her out there...lol
I attend speed week every August and have a blast, I keep saying that one year I will get the Subie into the 150 club, I know she will do that, I have pegged the speedo a a buck sixty heading out to Wendover with throttle and a few revs to spare.
We did a family trip out west.. Told the Folks i didn't care about Disneyland or anything else except could we please stop at the salt flats.. looking back at it now it was pretty special of them, as Pop was a guy, but not that much into cars.. anyway I'm with Hamp sure would love to run that line..
Any of you guys (besides Sam) remember Mickey Thompson, and the Challenger. 4 big Pontiac engines.. yep 400+ miles an hour... What was it Sam 406 or something..
Haven't thought of Mickey in a few years, he used to run Lyon's drag Strip for awhile. His business partner shot him and his wife dead in SoCal. If I can find it, I have an old pic of Mickey running a sportscar at Cotati Raceway, near Santa Rosa.
